5 Metabolic Markers to Assess Your Health

Holistic health is a huge passion of mine. I’m always researching and educating myself in this realm so that I can care for myself and my family better.

I was super stoked to hear from my good friend, fellow mom, and health guru Kori Meloy on this topic recently! She brought a fantastic perspective on Pro-Metabolic and nutritional wellness to my ‘Ohana Mentorship Program for mothers and daughters.

Kori is passionate about educating women on how to feed their bodies on a cellular level. She hosts the popular Freely Rooted Podcast and created the online Rewild Course where she teaches women how to restore their metabolism and vitality.

If we feed ourselves with nourishing food in an intentional way, our bodies will function so much more beautifully!

Kori talked a lot about this and I have seen it in my own life too. Nutrient-dense food has changed my life for the better!

I loved that Kori explained concrete ways to investigate if our bodies need better nutrition. Metabolic markers indicate our overall health and wellness and can give us red flags if something isn’t as it should be.

The 5 Metabolic Markers:

  1. Period – How do you feel at this time of the month? Your period shouldn’t be painful or super symptomatic.
  2. Sleep – Do you wake up feeling refreshed? If not, are you having a hard time falling asleep or staying asleep?
  3. Energy – How do you feel during the day? Do you have afternoon crashes or is your energy steady throughout the day?
  4. Digestion – Do you frequently have constipation, diarrhea or bloating? You should have 1 -3 regular bowel movements a day.
  5. Mood – Is your mood steady or do you have lots of mood swings and anxiety?
