Keiki Days with Alana

16.05.2019

In Hawaiian, the word keiki means “the little one”. When I think back to my keiki days, I can’t help but think of one of my very best friends, Alana Blanchard.

Alana and I have always had the type of friendship that allowed us to push each other. And when we applied that to our time together in the water, we pushed one another all the way to the pro surfing level we are both at today. Our memories together are endless. From elementary school talent shows to traveling around the world, we have had so much fun together over the years!

Our friendship has withstood good times and hard times, and carries on into motherhood! In fact, my new film Bethany Hamilton: Unstoppable, which hits theaters across the USA this July, goes more into my friendship journey with Alana.

Does this make you think of one of your childhood friends? Reach out to them and share a happy memory!
