Soak It Up

What season of life are you in right now? Are you a student? A parent? A newlywed? In a stressful season? Or a carefree and exciting one?

I am learning that there is no perfect season or life stage. Everything has beauty and pain, pros and cons, joys and trials. In every difficult season, there is still some small bright spot to be found. In every joyful season, there is often some sort of hardship.

It’s can be easy to constantly be wishing for a different life stage, but I encourage you to enter into this season – whatever that is for you!

I believe God is with us in each situation, orchestrating our lives to lean on Him and His word can be our strength and hope. What if we EMBRACE the season that God has us in now, even the tough parts? We won’t get this time back! Let’s make the most of it and live in the moment!

And if you’re in a hard season, I encourage you to pray and ask God to strengthen you! 🤍

Here are 5 ways to soak this season up:

1. Practice Gratitude

“This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24

Find something to be thankful for each day. Grab a journal and write down something you’re thankful for or a good thing that happened in your day before you go to bed. Each day is a new opportunity to praise and thank God for all He’s done for us.

2. Be Teachable

Be open to the ways that God will use your current experiences to grow and shape you. What is God teaching you in this season of life? How can you trust Him in this time?

And say YES to unexpected opportunities that come into your life! God often works very differently than we expect, but we can trust in His promises regardless. If we look to His word, He reminds us that there will be hardship, but we are called to trust in him and live in faith.

3. Focus On Contentment

“Godliness with contentment is great gain…” 1 Timothy 6:6

The grass is always greener, right? If we are always looking towards the future or comparing our situations to other people’s, we completely loose sight of what we have. Practicing contentment allows us to slow down and see our circumstances accurately.

4. Get Off The Screens

You’ve probably read this in my other blogs (or in my Be Present Course!) but let me just say it again haha!

Screens pull us away from the present, away from reality, and away from those we love. They are know to cause anxiety and mess up our natural hormone balance too. But we can choose to set the phones down, turn off the TV, spend some time outside with friends or family, and enjoy life!

When I look back on my life, I want to know that I lived it in the present with gratitude, love and faith.

So friends, let’s soak up this season and make the most of life!
