What You Think About, Comes About

My health practitioner, Dustin Dillberg, is going to take you on a little journey. Listen in…

Audio Version (03:51):

I want you to try something with me. But you really have to focus to fully understand what I’m talking about, so step away from your distractions for a second and picture this:

A lemon, but not JUST a lemon… a beautiful ripe lemon hanging from a tree with all the scents of the lemon orchard you’re imagining yourself standing in. It smells so good and fresh! Now I want you to reach up and imagine picking that lemon off the tree. I want you to scratch the outside of the lemon and watch the oils from the peel mist into the air and how you can smell the zest from it. Now, I want you to imagine cutting into that lemon so you can remove a wedge from it (just like what you would see on the edge of a cup of ice tea). As clearly as you can, imagine grabbing that lemon wedge and putting it in your mouth, and BITING down on it! Can you feel your mouth watering? Just as if you had just REALLY chomped on a lemon? You were only THINKING about the lemon yet your body reacted just as if it was really in your mouth.

Your thoughts are powerful! They impact your health, actions, and confidence.

As it says in Psalms 94:11, “the Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity,” our thoughts are often caught up in things that are far from what is righteous, true, honorable, or of the goodness of God. These thoughts can and often do cause an instinctive reaction that may not be appropriate for the reality of the situation. We worry about trivial things and forget to stay closest to what really matters, our faith in God.

What matters to you? What do you think about that might be getting in the way of your relationship with God, with living your life as though you are truly a child of God? What is keeping you from being the very best you?

Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

It all starts with our thoughts. If we can be aware of the things we’re thinking about we can start to work on keeping our thoughts pure and positive, focused on things heavenly, because what you think about comes about!

When you’re unstoppable, you beautify your thoughts.
