Introducing the Ulu

I’m gonna introduce to you, the Ulu, also known as a breadfruit. I’ve heard that this could be a cure to world hunger because this fruit tree can grow anywhere.

Watch this video and be inspired to try something new!

I really like the Ulu because it’s local to Hawaii and it can be prepared like a potato. It’s super versatile in cooking, like you can do savory or sweet.

Sometimes I’ll make a breadfruit Ulu pudding, or bake ’em up with garlic and sea salt. Throw it in the campfire and it’s delicious – you just like, literally, put the thing in.

So I encourage you girls to find something like the ulu in your local farmers market. If you don’t have breadfruit in your area, maybe plan to try it when you visit Hawaii!

I want to encourage you to try to make new things and have fun in the kitchen!

Mainly, I want to encourage you to try to make new things and have fun in the kitchen! That’s what Adam and I do; we just find our local foods and try to make something new. It’s fun to experiment! It doesn’t always turn out, but sometimes it does. And when it does, we’re super rewarded with a nutritious, healthy meal.

Try something new!
