Always Hope

Audio recorded by Adam Dirks

Exodus 16:4, Then the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, I am about to rain bread from heaven for you, and the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, that I may test them, whether they will walk in my law or not.”

When the Israelites were wandering the desert for 40 years, God provided manna each day to feed them. He instructed them only to take enough food for that day. As they gathered their food the Israelites had to trust and hope that the Lord would provide for them again the next day. And He did. His provision for them never failed. And it will never fail me or you either.

Sometimes we’re not sure how God is going to pull it off, but we can thank Him in advance for knowing that we are truly in His hands.  It’s important to do as Jesus instructs and pray the Lord’s Prayer, “give us this day our daily bread”, reminds us to trust that God provides for all our essential needs. Scripture not only tells us God loves, cares, and provides beyond our needs, it portrays these truths in story after story.

Take a moment and check in with yourself about what satisfies you. Are these satiations of true value?

Recall, if you can, the unexpected moments in your life when God has provided for you.

Being unstoppable means trusting that God’s provisions for me are good, abundant, and sufficient for today.

Pray with me:

Dear God, Just as you provided manna from heaven to your people, may I trust you for my daily needs. May I find my daily portion in you. In Jesus’ name. -Amen

Take Action:

Let’s all post pictures of how God meets our daily needs. Maybe it’s a beautiful meal. An act of kindness. A roof over our head. An umbrella in the rain. Let’s heighten our awareness of all the small and big ways God has provided for us. Share the pictures at #BUnstoppable.

Journal it:

In what areas of your life is God saying “trust me”? Where does He want you to rely on Him? In what details of your life does God wish for you to find peace and contentment in His provision? Recall if you can the unexpected moments in your life when God has provided for you. Invite Him to surprise you again.
