Prologue: A trial run, test day with 6 checkpoints. A good day to familiarize with their compass and vehicle…. “I’m happy!!!” laughs Bethany, in the process of taking a photo of the ranking list.

Leg 1: Teams have about 9.5 hours of driving to do today, and 7 checkpoints to hit… Day 1 has ended beautifully! Bethany & Chrissie hit all their checkpoints and made it back to the camp around 5:30pm after a full day off-roading! Bethany & Chrissie finish 6th overall on Day 1. And are currently 1st in the novice category being first time Gazelles.Read More • Press Release

Leg 3: The Gazelles are crossing ERG CHEBBI. The navigation needs to be very precise, as it’s difficult to get your bearings in these high sand dunes. The pilot has to balance her driving and judgment with finesse. The day will be long but the memories and images of this sea of sand will last forever. Read More. Bethany & Chrissie were holding a strong 7th overall at the start of the day, but their vehicle became stuck on a steep side angle between CPs. With assistance from 2 other teams, they were able to push it out. The team reached 4 of the 6 X CPs, and dropped into 13th overall ranking.
Leg 4 Marathon: A marathon leg is 2 days of autonomy, more than 300 km off road, no mechanical assistance in the evening and camping under the stars. Read More. Bethany & Chrissie made it to the bivouac, placing 6th for the leg, and were able to move up the general ranking to 10th overall, 2nd among all 1st Participants, and 4th in the Isuzu Media Challenge. Stoked!
Leg 5: This leg was meant to be a bit easier after the intense Marathon leg, but the distance & time could prove to be a big challenge. In fact, in wide open spaces the tiniest mechanical problem or struggle with sand can cost you dearly. Read More. Bethany and Chrissie completed the leg and made it back to the bivouac in 18th place for the day, dropping to 11th overall in the general ranking.
Leg 6 Marathon: This Marathon (2-day) leg will be the “final push” of the Rally. Their team will need to be precise and communicate/collaborate perfectly. They will tackle the CHEGAGA region – its sand, its hills, its Oued Draa and its sandstorms. The wind is the enemy during the last 2 days of the Rally.
