Green Tea

Wednesday, September 5th, 2012

Green tea is arguably one of the most health beneficial drinks on the planet! The highest quality and grades of green tea are said to come from Japan, or grow in this part of the world. Since I just visited Japan, I figured green tea would be a good topic for this month’s health tip!

In my previous post on my favorite types of tea, I briefly mentioned green tea, it’s benefits, and a fun way to drink it. But today I want to share a bit more of what I’ve learned about green tea and a few insights on the various ways I like to drink it!

WHY IS GREEN TEA GREEN?
Simple! The tea leaves are picked and “processed” (Steamed) immediately so that they undergo very little oxidation.

Green tea is natural, so little-to-no side effects. It has been claimed to help lessen, prevent or decrease the risk of all kinds of diseases and health conditions – from cancer & heart disease to preventing tooth decay and reducing bad breath! It even can help your body’s immune system! Who would have thought? God sure is amazing to create plants like this and allow us humans to discover the process of extracting the benefits from them!

HOW DO I LIKE TO DRINK GREEN TEA? A bunch of different ways:
• chilled & mixed with organic apple juice
• hot & steamy, maybe adding a drop of local raw honey
• green tea powder blended into a smoothie with almond milk & bananas

BenefitsofGreenTea.org is a great resource to learn more about how good Green Tea is for our health!

—’I can’t talk about God in public.’ If that is you, do you REALLY love God? You might go to church, but do you love God in your heart? To get closer to God, you could read the bible, read an insperational book, go to church, or talk to God!

I was reading a health magazine, that said that if you eat too much added sugar (added sugar is the suger in things like candy, not natural sugar like in apples) it can put stress on your body. That inspired me to eat less sugar every day!!!

  • Brianna

Hi Bethany! When I read your post about green tea, you inspired me to try it… it’s a lot better than I thought it would be, and I actually really enjoyed it! Thank you! I found a new drink I really enjoy AND another new way to stay healthy!

    HAPPY SUNDAY!!!!! Sept. 16, 2012
    — “The Lord is my help, therefore I am not disgraced.”
    ~Isaiah 50:7
    — You love God, but do you show it? It’s like saying that you love your pet, but not petting it, bushing it, or playing with it. In this case, going to church, reading the bible, praying, ect. Or what if you go to church but you don’t have a place in your heart for God? You have to love God AND show that you love Him too! God loves you, and wants you with Him in heaven, so live for Him!
    PLEASE PRAY FOR:
~My friend, Sarah, she is sick.
~Daisey Love, who is fighting cancer.

    HAPPY SUNDAY!!!!!! 9/23/12
—”The fruit of righteousness is sown in peace for those who cultivate peace.” -James 3:18
—The other day I woke up, and heard a song that talked about how no matter what, everyday they wake up to their stressful and boring day, just for Jesus. Sometimes I wouldn’t want to go on with life because of how hard it is, but the only reason I do wake up and go on with life is because Jesus gave me a job to do, and I’ll do it no matter what!
    PLEASE PRAY FOR:
    ~Cassie, she is sick

—”The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul; the decree of the Lord is trustworthy, giving wisdom to the simple. -Psalm 19:8
—Yesterday, I set up a stand at a fair to help save the sharks. God blessed us with good weather that day. We had tattoos to give out to little kids, and fliers to hand out. We were doing great! I could really tell wether or not the parents were interested. If they looked at posters, and picked up fliers, they were interested. But if they took their kid after they got a tattoo, then they couldn’t care less about what happens to sharks. Some people were nice enough to give a donation (one lady asked “Do you take donations?” I said “Yes, we do!” Then she just left.) A lot of my friends came to help out, which was SO nice! One guy who just goes to my school came and stayed to help for a long time. One kid, after he got a tatoo, looked in my shark ensiklepidia. I came over and answered questions that he had about it. He and I flipped throught the whole thing (and let me tell you, it is a THICK book!) The whole world seemed to be blocked away exept me and him, I loved it! His mom kept saying “come on!” And he would reply saying “I’m not done yet!” When we were done, his mom told me “Thank you for being paitent.” But I liked doing it, and my dad said that I could have sparked something in him! Near the end of the fair, a little girl came to me and showed me a book. i thought she was just showing me when she GAVE it to me! I was so shocked and supprized! Her mom said that when she saw that book (there is a book sale every year) she thought of me, so she got it. I felt so blessed! That whole day seemed like a dream!!!!!
    PLEASE PRAY FOR:
    ~Liz’s friend
~My friend and her dog (her dog just passed, and she is really upset)

That people may know that you, whose name is Jehovah, You alone are the most high over all the earth. Psalms 83:18 one of my favorite scriptures and did you know in many bibles they replace the name Jehovah with lord.

    HAPPY SUNDAY!!!!!! 10/7/12
—”Let the childrencome to me; do not prevent them, for the kindom of God belongs to such as these. -Mark 10:14
—How many of your parents are divorced? Mine are. Divortion is something God doesn’t like, but people do it anyway. Personally, I never understud it. How can someone say they will love and take care of the one that they are marrying, but then want nothing to do with them? I was pretty young when my parents got divorced (and my brother was even younger.) So I’m… I don’t really know if I’m OK now. Sometimes I cry over how much my lfe changed and sometimes I can talk about it and feel OK. Luckly, I see both my parents! Some people only get to live with one parent, so I’m pretty lucky!
If you need anyone to talk to about it, I’m here. After all, I wnet through it, so I know how hurtful it is.
    PLEASE PRAY FOR:
    ~Liz’s friend
