hey bethany! i love you’re faith in jesus christ and how after that huge shark attack thing you still go in the water. i hope you come to PA one day so i can meet you. somtimes i wonder were i would be without you and jesus! mabey living in a box? i dont know. but you changed me and i will never forget you! oh and i almost for got congrats on the niece again! i hope she is glad to have such an inspiring Aunty! love ya

Just watching you two enjoy the water together, and hang out together and enjoy each other surrounded by God’s beauty is special, & a friendship that has gone thru so much together and gets stronger and stronger is a blessing, hold fast to it! That type of friendship is hard to find throughout your life, and you two have proven you can get through ANYTHING together!

Dear Bethany, I am one of your biggest fans! I know you have lots of them but you are an inspiration. I am reading your book right now and it is incredible!!! I understand that you are a big Christian. I am also a big Christian to, I go to Hope church in richmond virginia which is kind of like the Church you go to. I LOVE christian rock music also! My favorite artist is Chris Tomlin. And my favorite song is Our God, but I love the song O Praise Him its one of my favorites. Bethany thank you for getting back on your board because I am a gymnast and I have always had times where I would think I can’t do this but then I think if she got back on her board i should face my fears and rember God is with me. I have done gymnastics for 9 years and one day i hope to be a pro at it one day. Thank you Bethany!!! One more thing in your book you have a picture of one of your boards and on it it says ”I can do all things through CHRIST who strengthens me” phil. 4:13 That is my favorite verse because it reminds me that God is my savior and that he is my light when i am in darkness. Bethany…I just can’t begin to express the inspiration you give the world. I am a young girl who lives for Jesus. You taught me that even though some trouble is going through my life, you just have to believe that God will take care of it and that it happened for a reason. Thanks for your amazing effort!

er… if Bethany is reading this, you are the reason i started trying to go to Church more often, and live my life for Jesus Christ, and start being nicer… i live in Omaha, NE, which (according to someone but i can’t remember who it was) Omaha is the biggest city in Nebraska, so i hate it here. i like the town my cousin lives in, it is a small town and everybody knows everybody else. i decided that i want to save up all my money and move to Kaua’i as soon as i am done with high school! well, not as soon as i am done…. i will have to wait a few months because i will only be 17 when i finish high school… but i love you, and you are my role-model, and i wish i could be like you! (p.s.- i am 13) MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

i liked the part where bethany went into the wave and then a huge dust cloud formed underwater. that looked so cool. and that water looks gorgeous too, The water here on Long Island is not that blue. More like black too me. ( :
